Kingfisher - small bird kingfisher family, slightly larger than a sparrow. Length of 16-19 cm, wingspan 26-29 cm, weight 25-45 grams. Has a bright plumage, the top blue-green with small bright dots on the head and wings, bottom - rusty. Male and female similar in color, but males are slightly larger and brighter. For fish, hunt from the air, often lying in wait for prey while sitting on a branch above the water. Chooses to ambush the quietest corners, where it is very difficult to notice.
