Tiny Mouse Kills Deadly Snake Whiskers twitching, the mouse stares into the jaws of death - and then pounces on them.  The little fellow had no intention of being lunch for the deadly viper whose cage he had been thrown into. During a vicious 30-minute struggle the mouse tore at the serpent's head with its tiny paws and jaws, finally killing it.          Face-off: The snake and mouse stare each other down as battle commences         The mouse served up as lunch makes a counter-attack on the viper, leading to a 30-minute fight to the death The outcome amazed firemen in Nantou, Taiwan, who had rescued the footlong snake from a local home and taken it to their fire station as a pet.  Fireman Lan Sengqiu said the snake might have used up all its venom trying to bite them when they caught it, adding: 'The mouse barely had a scratch on him.'  Vipers have a pair of long hollow fangs, that are used to inject venom from glands at the back of the jaw.  During a strike the mouth can open to nearly 180 degrees, and jaws snap shut on impact.  Death is usually caused by a collapse in blood pressure from the venom.  But snakes do have enemies. They can fall prey to large birds, wild boars, mongooses, raccoons, foxes, coyotes, other snakes. . . and apparently mice.

Piramid si China

KISAH piramid di negara China timbul pada tahun 1945 apabila seorang juruterbang Angkatan Tentera Udara Amerika Syarikat: James Gaussman, terserempak dengan sebuah piramid putih ketika beliau sedang dalam penerbangan dari China ke India.

Katanya, "Saya terpaksa membelok ke kiri untuk mengelak banjaran bukit dan selepas itu muncul di hadapan saya, sebuah dataran yang lebar. Di situ saya terlihat sebuah piramid gergasi berwarna putih. Ia mungkin diperbuat daripada logam atau batu marmar. Akan tetapi apabila saya terbang lebih dekat lagi, saya dapati ia diperbuat daripada 'capstone' sejenis batu hiasan kristal. Saya ingin mendarat tetapi tiada lapangan tanah yang cukup luas atau panjang untuk saya berbuat begitu."

Sekembalinya ke New York, Amerika Syarikat, penemuan itu segera diwar-warkan ke pengetahuan akhbar New York Times dan sebuah berita mengenainya tersiar pada 28 Mac 1947. Reaksi daripada berita itu membuatkan Kolonel Maurice Sheahan, Pengarah Trans World Airlines, mengesahkan tentang penemuan itu dimana dia juga terjumpa sebuah piramid gergasi 40 batu di Tenggara Xi'an –China.

Xi'an : Wilayah Piramid

Pada satu sumber teks mengatakan, piramid terbesar di dunia berada di Daerah Qin Lin: Zon Larangan Negara China. Ia dianggarkan 1000 kaki tinggi dan diperbuat daripada tanah padat. Bagaimanapun Kerajaan China menafikan kewujudannya. Malah 100 lagi piramid lain turut menerima nasib yang sama.

Walaupun begitu, aktiviti pelancongan ke kawasan makam Xi'an yang terkenal dengan askar tanah liat Terracota yang berusia lebih 1000 tahun, masih mengiktiraf piramid kerana makam itu terletak di salah sebuah piramid yang dimaksudkan ini.

Piramid terbesar terletak pada makam Maharaja Pertama China, bernama Shih Huang-Ti pada tahun 221 Sebelum Masihi. Baginda menaiki takhta selepas berjaya menyatukan semua wilayah di China yang selalu berperang sesama sendiri.

Pada beberapa teks sejarah lama China ada menceritakan perihal Maharaja Shih Huang-Ti. Baginda merupakan seorang maharaja yang mempunyai pelbagai teknologi yang canggih. Antaranya ialah cermin ajaib. Ia memang magis kerana mampu memancarkan imej organ dalaman manusia termasuklah tulang. Sekali imbas fungsinya sama seperti mesin X-Ray sekarang ini.

Menurut sebuah cerita lagenda, angkatan perang Shih Huang-Ti juga mempunyai teknologi senjata api yang canggih diwaktu itu. Senjata ini mampu menggempur kubu musuh dan menawannya dalam sekelip mata. Maharaja Shih Huang-Ti juga seorang Jeneral perang yang handal dan mampu terbang di udara.

Askar-Askar Terracota

Apa yang menjadi tanda tanya dan misteri hingga sekarang adalah: Bagaimana ukiran askar patung ini mempunyai raut muka yang unik dan pakaian yang berbeza-beza di antara satu sama lain. Malah senjata besi dan logam yang dipegang mereka juga masih tajam dan tidak berkarat. Apakah teknologi membuatkan semua peralatan ini mampu kekal beratus tahun? Di manakah rahsia mereka?

Bermula dengan persoalan ini, pakar arkeologi khususnya daripada barat membuat kajian terhadap askar patung dan juga manuskrip-manuskrip lama yang menceritakan perihal kerajaan Shih Huang-Ti. Hasil penyelidikan itu, mereka mendapati Mahligai makam itu tidak ubah seperti versi kecil empayar China dengan air merkuri mengalir seperti sungai, mata berlian bertaburan, dinding dipenuhi dengan berlian seakan mirip bintang-bintang di langit serta obor api yang boleh menyala beribu tahun.

Bagi Guo Zhikun, pakar sejarah Zaman Dinasti Qin dan Han mengatakan kompleks makam ini terdiri daripada dua bahagian. Pertama anak bukit yang tertimbus ke atas kubur maharaja itu dan kedua istana bawah tanah, tempat keranda baginda tersimpan. Rekod sejarah mencatatkan bahawa Makam Shih Huang-Ti berketinggian 115 meter dengan lebar 2000 meter. Justeru, proses luluhawa telah menyebabkan piramid makam ini berketinggian 1400 meter dengan luas tapaknya 120,750 meter persegi.

Lokasi Piramid Di China

Sejak penemuan piramid-piramid dan patung askar-askar Terracota pada tahun 1940 hinggalah 1970-an, kerajaan China telah menafikan kewujudannya dan menyorokkan beberapa piramid tersebut dengan tanah bagi menyerupai bukit biasa.

Sampai hari ini, kerajaan China belum lagi memberi kebenaran untuk saintis dan ahli arkeologi menggali ke dalam makam Maharaja Shih Huang-Ti kerana khuatir ia akan merosakkan isi kandungan makam itu. Oleh itu, para saintis hanya diberi kebenaran untuk menyelidik di sekitar makam dan juga menggali lubang kecil bagi kamera fiber-optik mengintai masuk ke dalam makam tersebut. Diantara penemuan itu ialah gambaran yang seakan merupakan patung wanita menari yang diperbuat daripada gangsa dan berlian.

Bilakah misteri ini mampu dirungkaikan?
